Description
A creamy, perfectly spiced pumpkin spice latte made from scratch with real pumpkin and no artificial flavors. This homemade version rivals café quality with balanced sweetness and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or fresh; organic is great!)
½ cup cane sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
½ cup water (filtered for best flavour)
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (make your own mix for a unique twist)
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (pure vanilla for depth of flavour)
⅛ teaspoon ground ginger (freshly grated ginger is fantastic too)
½ cup 1% or 2% milk (or any non-dairy alternative like almond or oat milk)
½ cup espresso or very strong coffee (the stronger, the better!)
Whipped topping (optional but delightful!)
Ground cinnamon and nutmeg for garnish (because you deserve it!)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, sweetener, vanilla, spices and salt.
- Heat over medium heat until steaming (150°F), whisking constantly to prevent scorching.
- Remove from heat and blend with an immersion blender for 30 seconds until frothy (or whisk vigorously).
- Divide coffee between two mugs. Pour spiced milk mixture over top.
- Top with whipped cream if desired, and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Notes
- For extra richness: Use half milk, half half-and-half
- Dairy-free option: Almond or oat milk works well
- Make it boozy: Add 1 oz bourbon or coffee liqueur per serving
- Storage: Leftover spiced milk keeps refrigerated 2 days
