  • Author: ranime
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 servings 1x

Description

Garbage Bread is the ultimate crowd-pleasing party food – a stuffed, rolled bread loaf packed with all your favorite pizza ingredients (pepperoni, cheese, veggies, and more) baked until golden and gooey. Perfect for game day, parties, or a fun family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 30 slices pepperoni
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Extra flour for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Layer on pepperoni, cooked sausage, bell peppers, olives, and red onion.
  6. Dust with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  7. Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough (like a jelly roll). Pinch seams to seal.
  8. Transfer to baking sheet seam-side down. Brush with egg wash if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Let cool 5 minutes before slicing into 1-inch pieces.

Notes

  • Customize It: Use any favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, bacon, ham, or jalapeños.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble up to 4 hours before baking (keep refrigerated).
  • Freezing: Wrap unbaked roll tightly and freeze for up to 3 months (thaw before baking).
  • Vegetarian Option: Skip meats and add more veggies.
  • Dipping Sauces: Serve with extra marinara, ranch, or garlic butter.
