Description
Delicious mini Philly cheesesteak sandwiches made with tender sliced steak, melted cheese, and caramelized onions on soft slider buns. Perfect for game day, parties, or a quick family dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian or potato rolls work well)
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 8 slices provolone cheese (or Cheez Whiz for authenticity)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and peppers, sauté until caramelized (about 10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- In same skillet, cook sliced steak with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until no longer pink (about 5 minutes).
- Slice slider buns in half (keeping them connected) and place bottom halves in baking dish.
- Layer with steak mixture, then onions/peppers, then cheese slices.
- Place top buns on, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and buns are golden.
- Cut into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
- Freeze steak for 30 minutes before slicing for easier thin cuts
- For authentic Philly style, use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone
- Add mushrooms for extra flavor if desired
- Can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving
