- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage with the chopped onion and minced garlic for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In your slow cooker, combine the cooked meat mixture with crushed tomatoes, beef broth, water, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the broken lasagna noodles.
- Once the noodles are al dente, stir in the ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.
