Description
A sweet and tangy copycat recipe of the famous China Coast salad dressing, reminiscent of the popular restaurant chain’s signature flavor. Perfect for green salads or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 10 tbsp rice vinegar
- 4 tbsp white granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar and white vinegar until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add the vegetable oil, soy sauce, ketchup, and sesame oil to the bowl. Whisk vigorously until well combined and emulsified.
- Stir in the grated ginger and minced garlic until fully incorporated.
- Transfer the dressing to a jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Shake well before serving. Drizzle over salad or use as a dip. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a smoother dressing, you can blend all ingredients in a blender for 30 seconds.
- The dressing will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Adjust sweetness or tanginess to taste by adding more sugar or vinegar.
- For a thicker consistency, add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or a pinch of xanthan gum.
