  • Author: Ranime
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes (includes chilling)
  • Yield: 1 cup

Description

A sweet and tangy copycat recipe of the famous China Coast salad dressing, reminiscent of the popular restaurant chain’s signature flavor. Perfect for green salads or as a dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 10 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp white granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar and white vinegar until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  2. Add the vegetable oil, soy sauce, ketchup, and sesame oil to the bowl. Whisk vigorously until well combined and emulsified.
  3. Stir in the grated ginger and minced garlic until fully incorporated.
  4. Transfer the dressing to a jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Shake well before serving. Drizzle over salad or use as a dip. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a smoother dressing, you can blend all ingredients in a blender for 30 seconds.
  • The dressing will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Adjust sweetness or tanginess to taste by adding more sugar or vinegar.
  • For a thicker consistency, add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or a pinch of xanthan gum.
