Description
Crispy golden fries topped with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and all your favorite toppings for the ultimate game-day snack or indulgent meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) frozen french fries (or fresh-cut potatoes)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 lean/fat)
- 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (pickled or fresh)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup crispy bacon bits
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Cook fries: Bake or air-fry fries according to package instructions until crispy. Preheat oven broiler.
- Brown beef: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high. Cook ground beef until no pink remains. Drain fat, then stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Assemble: Spread fries on an oven-safe platter. Top with beef, then both cheeses. Broil 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
- Add toppings: Drizzle with sour cream, then scatter tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions, bacon, and cilantro.
- Serve immediately with extra sour cream or hot sauce on the side.
Notes
- For spicier fries, mix diced jalapeños into the beef or use pepper Jack cheese.
- Substitute ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispiness (microwaving makes fries soggy).
