- 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained)
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1/2 cup salsa (mild or hot)
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 3 green onions (chopped)
- 1 jalapeño (sliced, optional)
- Tortilla chips (for serving)
Instructions
- Brown the beef: In skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Season beef: Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
- Prep cheese base: In large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in sour cream until combined.
- Layer ingredients: Spread cheese mixture in 9×13 baking dish. Top with seasoned beef, diced tomatoes, salsa, then both cheeses.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with olives, green onions, and jalapeños. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
