1 ½ pounds ground beef
2 cups elbow macaroni
8 ounces tomato sauce
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ yellow onion, diced
½ cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ teaspoon garlic powder.
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook pasta al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.

- Reduce heat to medium. Add marinara sauce and simmer 5 minutes.

- Garnish with additional fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, stir in 2 oz cream cheese with the heavy cream
- Substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for variation
- Add 1 cup sliced mushrooms with the onions if desired
