  • Author: chef caterina
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes (includes chilling)
  • Yield: 12 deviled eggs 1x

Description

A delicious twist on classic deviled eggs featuring crispy bacon, fresh tomato, and lettuce – all the flavors of a BLT sandwich in bite-sized form.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit 12 minutes.
  2. Transfer eggs to ice bath for 5 minutes, then peel and halve lengthwise.
  3. Remove yolks and mash with mayonnaise, mustard, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth.
  4. Stir in bacon, tomato, lettuce, and chives. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pipe or spoon filling into egg whites.
  6. Garnish with additional bacon crumbles and chives.
  7. Chill 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use eggs that are 7-10 days old for easier peeling
  • Can prepare filling 1 day ahead – store separately from whites
  • For a spicier version, add dash of hot sauce to yolk mixture
  • Make gluten-free by ensuring bacon is GF-certified
