  • 2 bell peppers (1 red, 1 green), sliced into strips
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • For the marinade:
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice wine or sherry
  • For garnish:
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef: Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and rice wine. Add beef slices and marinate 15 minutes.
  2. Stir-fry beef: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in wok over high heat. Cook beef in batches for 1-2 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook veggies: Add remaining oil. Stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds. Add onions and bell peppers; cook 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  4. Combine: Return beef to wok. Pour in any remaining marinade and toss everything together for 1 minute.
  5. Finish: Drizzle with sesame oil. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately over rice.
