- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Chopped nuts, for coating (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, gently heat the heavy cream and unsalted butter over medium heat until it just begins to boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in the amaretto liqueur and almond extract until well incorporated.
- Transfer the ganache to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 2 hours until firm.
- Once firm, scoop out portions and roll them into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or chopped nuts until fully coated.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
